What’s in Your Beauty Bag: QVC Edition!
On our recent trip to QVC headquarters our makeup expert JP McCary was interviewed by resident QVC Beauty Blogger Vanessa Page. Afterward we took the opportunity to turn the tables a little and ask her a few of our questions. One thing we were dying to know was with all the different types of makeup she gets her hands on just what makes it into her beauty bag?
Smokin’ Hot: Unless I’m using a tiny clutch, Benefit’s Smokin’ Eyes Palette is always with me. It’s so small, but includes so much. The shadows and black eyeliner can go daytime-subtle or nighttime-dramatic, and paired with the Eye Bright in the corners, really make my eyes pop! The mini tweezers are a lifesaver for those stray eyebrow hairs you don’t notice until you get outside.
San-Sun: QVC’s on-air guest for NARS introduced me to the Laguna Bronzer at Beauty Bash and I was instantly hooked. It’s not a glittery or fake-bake look – it just gives my skin a healthy, rested glow. I usually top it with blush, but it could easily stand on its own.
Bright EYEdea: JP and Kat just introduced me to TEMPTU’s new Undereye Concealer, and now it has a permanent home in my makeup bag. It’s super smooth and brightens the whole area. Plus, the inner core is really cool.
Full of Grace: Philosophy’s pure grace is one of the cleanest scents around. It’s designed to smell like soap and water, which makes it both non-offensive at work and handy to have around in my bag during summer.
Foundation Free: When I’m in a rush in the morning—particularly in the summer—I just reach for this Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer in Nude instead of foundation. It provides great sheer coverage that’s slightly dewy, plus it has SPF 20 built right in.
Lip Service: I’ve used the original Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 for years, but I just got a new flavored set that includes vanilla, pear, coconut, and mango, which makes it that much more fun to pull out of my purse.
Magic Wand: The wand in Bare Minerals’ Flawless Definition Mascara really separates each and every lash — I’ve yet to see a clump.
Picture Perfect: I don’t use Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer every day, but when I do, it makes such a difference. Just a tiny bit manages to fill in fine lines and help my foundation go on more smoothly. The texture is really silky.
