HOW TO CONTOUR

HOW TO CONTOUR

Contouring is way to bring out facial features, sculpt or shape features to create an effect or illusion. When it comes to contouring it is not "one size fits all faces."
Below we share our Pro Team's tips for contouring and how to contour by face shape.

TEMPTU Perfect Canvas Airbrush Bronzer & Contour

This shimmer-free warm taupe is simple to use, appears naturally blended and is designed to contour all skin tones. The buildable formula lets you create a subtle contour or add in layers for a more dramatic effect.
How to apply: Can be applied under or over airbrush foundation. Fair to light skin tones should apply under foundation for a soft, natural look. Set TEMPTU Air to speed setting 2. Always move in small circular motions as you apply contour.

HOW TO CONTOUR BY FACE SHAPE

HEART SHAPE

Forehead is Narrower thank Cheeks with Pointed Chin.

Contouring heart-shaped faces can create more balance. Apply TEMPTU Perfect Canvas Airbrush Bronzer & Contour along the side perimeters of your forehead (avoiding the middle and center part of the forehead).
Airbrush slightly under your cheekbone, stop before reaching the outer corner of your eyes.
Finish by applying a little contour to the center of the chin.
PRO TIP
Use a lighter shade of foundation to highlight along the jawline & center of your forehead.

SQUARE SHAPE

Face is the same length and width, hairline and jawline is even. Rectangle shape is when face is a touch longer than it is wider.

Contour along the top side perimeters of your forehead (avoiding the middle and center part of your forehead).
Airbrush slightly along the cheekbone, not passing the center of your eyes. Finish off by applying a little Contour along the jaw on both sides of face.
PRO TIP
Use a lighter foundation shade to highlight on your chin, center of your forehead, and on the tops of your cheeks - smile to find the area under your eyes on the top of your cheeks.

CIRCLE SHAPE

Face is as long as it is wide with no major points or definition along the jaw, cheekbone or forehead.

Contouring a round facial shape will create structure and definition. Apply contour along the side perimeters of your forehead temple (avoiding the middle and center part of your forehead).
Airbrush slightly along the cheekbone, not passing the outer corner of your eyes, and continue by applying a little Contour along your jaw line. This would look like the shape of a number 3 as you apply.
PRO TIP
Complete the look, use a lighter foundation shade to highlight along the center of your forehead, apples of your cheeks and chin.

DIAMOND SHAPE

Hairline is more narrow, chin is pointy and cheeks are the widest part of the face.

Contour along the center of the forehead, airbrush slightly along your cheekbone, not passing the center of your eyes. Finish off by applying a little Contour on your chin.
PRO TIP
Use a lighter foundation to highlight along the jawline and center of your forehead.

TRIANGLE SHAPE

Face has a narrow forehead with a wider jawline or the opposite for an inverted triangle shape.

Apply Contour along the middle perimeters of the forehead (avoiding the side of your forehead).
Airbrush slightly along your cheekbone, not passing the outer corner of your eyes and finish off by applying a little contour along your jawline.
If you have an inverted triangle shaped forehead, apply along the perimeters of your forehead, slightly along your cheekbone and temple, and pass a little on your chin.
PRO TIP
Use a lighter foundation to highlight along your forehead, temple and center of your chin.
For an inverted triangle, use a lighter foundation to high light the middle of the forehead and along your jawline.
